It’s 27th July for Malaysia, and guess what, its Starcraft 2′s release date!!! And yeah, as the title shown; This is my farewell post to World of Warcraft, and a Welcoming new dawn of Starcraft 2. I have been wanting to post this like ages ago, especially if you can see the date of my World of Warcraft subscription expiry:

Not to mention including a couple of cool replay videos from the beta. Well, the lack of time, laziness, and Fraps totally killing itself when i try to Fraps during Starcraft 2 and many other little things combined resulted in this huge delay.

Anyways i will try to keep it short on the farewell posting:

Yes, it is a reality, i am quiting World of Warcraft. No joke, no troll. If you still cannot believe it, i can’t and will not bother to further justify myself. I would also like to take the opportunity to apologize to the people from WoW that i have offended, as i sincerely would prefer leaving the game in peace despite all the trolling/hating i have done in the past. Not to mention apologies to my past/present guild mates for me mistreating them despite the support they have given me, and particularly to Misko/Rommorga for leaving so soon without a proper farewell. Hope that you may forgive me to those who are concerned.

Also i would like to thank everyone who have been with me since the creation of Death Infused guild. Particularly the folks from Australia/America, especially Febji, Menchi and Chiron (hope i am getting you guys correctly ^^;)  who came all over to Malaysia to visit us, and Inter for treating us to a very luxurious dinner over at Mandarin Oriental Hotel Kuala Lumpur. Last but not least, everyone from the HWL group, and my PVP arena teammates (Zulivan, Rommorga, Misko, Tocsitup, Spira for being the best teammates that i can count on regardless of what i may say in the past. All of you guys have been amongst the best WoW memories i had.

Man, looking back on the 5+ long years i have been with the game and even my thread over at LYN here, it’s something that no money can buy. Thank you Blizzard Entertainment, for creating such an addicting game, and all the memories it had brought to me, and i will be counting you guys in the future for Starcraft 2 too! And again, Thank you everyone in WoW for all the good times i have had. I truly, and sincerely mean it from the bottom of my heart. To those i have missed out, much apologies as five years is a very long time to keep everyone in mind ^^;

I was supposed to post something else before this, but that got delayed, so never mind that for now! Anyways, its a weekend, however unlike any other weekend, this weekend we have 2009 WoW MLG pro circuit Anaheim 3v3 arena tournament going on. Its basically a big time WoW PVP arena tournament, and its at its last day with the finals coming right up in just a few hours later from this post. Think of this as your normal football sport, except this is World of Warcraft, and its played on a computer aka E-Sport.

I am basically going to attempt live blogging this to get myself prepared for perhaps an AFA09 live blog. It sorta worked out for GACC 2009 first day, so why not? heh.

=Live blogging start: BB VS Check 6=

oh my god, first round started in a BANG on Ruins of lordaeron!

- Good sap from Hiren the rogue
- Insane burst from Hiren and orangemarmalade, forced BOP and Deterrence from Twix the hunter
- Quick swap to Flex enh shaman
- INSANE BURST STRAIGHT to the paladin, CROSS KILL to numberone on priest, but hunter followed after that, and GAME 1 to Button Bashers!

Game 2 on Blade’s Edge Arena:

- INSANE RNG from Check 6, Orangemarmalade down within few seconds of the match before an iceblock, WTF Beastcleave /sigh

Game 3 on Balde’s Edge Arena again:

- Rogue didn’t manage to score a sap or even a cheap shot popped out of stealth by Flare.
- Very hard preasure to Numberone priest, pain suppression popped, and still didn’t help and Numberone went down quickly ending the match.

Game 4 on Nagrand Arena:

- Early preasure to flex from BB, and Orangemarmalade from Check6
- Miscommunicated Trinket+BOP on Flex, Orangemarmalade sitting through TWO iceblock, health bouncing up and down
- SUDDEN QUICK burst from BB, and DOWN GOES Flex the enhance Shaman

2-2 TIE Button Bashers vs Check 6, and they are going for a break. TWO undefeated team in the round robin, Korean RMP vs American Check6, 2 all tied, who will come out undefeated? Next game is incoming very soon!

Game 5 last game on Nagrand Arena again:

- Early opener by Hiren to Flex, Orangemarmalade to Twix hunter
- HEAVY preasure to Orangemarmalade, sudden huge burst swap to Flex
- Double iceblock used, orange hardcasting bolts towards Flex despite having a bunch of pets and preasure onto him
- Finally a CROSS KILL on Flex/Orange, Paladin OUT OF MANA, Priest low on mana assisting Hiren for a kill on hunter
- Unfortunately against a good hunter, rogue just doesn’t stand much chance, Priest went Out of mana from the assist kill, eventually Rogue went down, and Check6 were victorious.

What an amazing game from both teams! Despite ALL the naysayers about RMP having absolutely ZERO chance against beastcleave, BB proved the world wrong with what they showed us. It’s a pity that BB did not win the series, with a 2-3 score against Check6, it was still a very very exciting match and they will still be amongst the final teams and i will definitely be supporting them

To add in to the previous game, man, the tension was HUGE as both teams were yelling and screaming especially on the 2 versus 2. Words cannot possibly describe that thrilling moment as we were all eager to see who would take the victory. As vhell said: “that was hands down the best WoW match i’ve ever seen”!

Break for now, and next up is  BHMS (DK/Lock/Druid Shadow Cleave) VS Button Bashers (Rogue/Mage/Priest RMP) so stay tuned!

Game 1 on Ruins of lordaeron:

- Opener on druid by BB, forced VERY EARLY NS before a grip from DK
- Swap onto DK, having AMS up
- Hots dropped from druid, swap onto Druid, even with AMZ by the DK, still Good game. Druid went down in a hurry.

Game 2 on Nagrand arena:

- Opener to Warlock, early blind towards druid to force a trinket, warlock portaled away
- Swap towards DK, forced AMS, forced AMZ, fear towards druid, and DK went down  in a hurry.

TWO – ZERO from button bashers vs BHMS

Game 3 on Blade’s Edge arena:

- VERY good sap from Rogue, opener cheap shot on the Druid
- Death knight gripped right before the sheep, swap towards warlock right after druid, warlock dropped down from bridge
- Druid got feared RIGHT INTO ALL THREE members from BB, instant swap and instant BLOWN UP. Game ended THREE ZERO in favor to Button Bashers.

Game 4 on Ruins of lordaeron:

- Early opener onto Warlock, heavy preasure, however a portal and a grip from Dk, the kill was not possible
- Heavy kiting from DK towards the rogue and control towards mage/priest, game dragged and eventually priest went low on mana
- Swap towards rogue with priest out of mana, and there goes the match with check 6 winning.

Game 5 on Ruins of lordaeron again:

- Pretty much the same thing happening on game 4, BHMS dragging the game and not much preasure being applied from Button Bashers
- Button Bashers having  everyone on low, numberone went out of mana, and rogue hiren being very low on health. However with good communication, having cloak/vanish still up, priest went for a drink while rogue still alive with that low hp.
- Quick swap into Brogo Druid, despite AMZ coming up, Silence from Button Bashers with Druid dangerously low on health, a kill was almost certain, until a quick shift running away and a NS heal for 12k, and Rogue went down right after. Game goes to Check 6.

3 – 2 Button Bashers vs Check 6 with Button Bashers taking the series.

Next up:

Check 6 vs EG, game 1 on Ruins of Lordaeron:

- Team EG going alliance to benefit from the racials as will of forsaken wont be doing anything
- VERY heavy preasure on to EG with Azael Warlock taking a lot of damage
- Swap from Check 6 to Rogue, dipped him pretty low but not quite there
- Momentum shift towards EG’s favor and Flex enh Shaman went low really quick with full dots, and falling down shortly after. EG taking the first game.

Game 2 on Blade’s Edge arena:

- Early opener from rogue towards enh shaman, with Check 6 opening towards EG’s Tenderloin Shaman
- Swap from Check 6 between Rogue/Warlock, and as the match dragged
- Check 6 shaman mana going low, popped shamanistic rage, but sitting through stuns with it
- Eventually a burst from Check 6 on to EG’s Rogue and he went down in a hurry, Game 2 going to Check 6.

1 – 1 Tied between EG and Check 6

Game 3 on Ruins of Lordaeron arena:

- Opener onto Flex Hunter from Rogue, Check 6 sitting on Azael Warlock
- Fel dom from EG Warlock, preasure still on to him, Swap from EG to Flex enh shaman
- Interrupts and Fears on to Check 6 Paladin and down goes Flex, Game 3 to EG, 2 -1.

Game 4 on Dalaran Sewers:

- Check 6 starting up on Warlock, EG not putting up much preasure on to Check 6
- Check 6 paladin got put into heavy CC, preasure from EG onto Flex enh Shaman.
- Sudden preasure on to  Smaten Rogue with his evasions down, and he went down in a hurry, game 4 victorious by Check 6 despite heavy dragging by EG.

Game 5 on Nagrand arena:

- Usual opener on Azael Warlock by Check 6
- Game progression similar as Game 4
- Check 6 paladin going very low on mana by the long game while EG’s Shaman having about 5k pretty healthy
- EG’s Rogue Smaten without evasion, being swapped on to and after an intimidation stun, went down. Game 5 to Check 6 3 to 2 and they got the series.

While EG didn’t got the series like button bashers, they still player VERY well especially Azael surviving Beastcleave bursts/preasure.

Next up is SK-EU vs BHMS, game 1 on Dalaran Sewers:

- Both teams having dots and hots up
- Grip by BHMS DK on to SK EU’s DK
- things turned against BHMS on the grip, and their DK went down in a hurry

Next game pretty much same things:

- both dk fighting each other
- banish onto BHMS druid follow fear, devour, cyclone cc chain
- both dk’s trading blows, going low putting up amz/death pacts
- sudden cc chain death coil/fear into druid, health goes back up, but still went down eventually

Game 3 on Blade’s Edge arena:

- both ghouls from DK dead early
- heavy drink from Brogo druid
- SK eu druid going low on health, got into cc chain, and there goes SK-EU’s druid.
2-1 SK EU vs BHMS favoring SK EU

Game 4 on Ruins of Lordaeron:

- dots and hots rolling as usual, game drag
- sudden CC towards Brogo Druid with Nature swiftness casted in a cyclone, and burst towards BHMS’s Dk, and down he goes, despite Nature swiftness is up. SK EU takes the win.

Game 5 on Dalaran Sewers:

- Same thing with previous games, until a pet kill by SK EU.
- unable to get a feldomination, Snutz Warlock from BHMS went down in a hurry, Game 5 going to SK EU with 4 to 1.

Next up BB versus Fnatic on Ruins of lordaeron:

- early sap by Button bashers onto douja
- swap towards woundman rogue, dipping very low
- Hiren Rogue going very low, however Woundman getting very low as well
- Blind onto Douja shaman, and arcane missle from Orangemarmalade mage, and down goes Woundman, game 1 going towards Button Bashers

Game 2 on Ruins of lordaeron:

- early sap on douja shaman
- Woundman rogue dipping dangerously low early on, however picked back up by douja shaman
- Hiren rogue going low however picked back up by priest and another run at Woundman Rogue, with Douja caught in a snare unable to catch up, down goes woundman rogue and BB picking up second game, 2 zero favoring Button Bashers.

Game 3 on Nagrand arena:

- sap on both healers, Hiren rogue opening on their warlock
- Swap to Douja shaman, insane preasure, no NS crit, going down in a hurry. Game 3 towards Button Basher again.

Game 4 on Ruins of lordaeron:

- Not much preasure from Button Bashers surprisingly.
- heavy cc from Fnatic on to Hiren rogue
- swap to Hiren Rogue, dipping dangerously low, however numberone priest picking him back up and he survives
- Mana from numberone priest going low, momentum favoring Fnatic
- numberone priest manages a good drink right in the middle, later on interrupted by Yog warlock
- sap onto numberone priest by Woundman rogue
- fear chains onto numberone priest, and down goes hiren rogue. Game 4 towards Fnatic 3-1 favoring Button Bashers

Game 5 on Ruins of lordaeron:

- Sap on numberone priest
- Yog Warlock half health assault by Button Bashers, eventually picked back up
- Douja chained cc, sitting in a polymorph
- numberone priest going low on mana
- woundman suddenly got swapped, ALMOST INSTANT kill by button bashers with Douja having nature swiftness still up!

Game 5 goes to Button Bashers and it ends with a 4 to 1 going to Button Bashers. And that CONCLUDES THE ROUND ROBIN going into a lunch break.

So during the replays, sound wasn’t what it was during live and it went ape shit especially when the Koreans were yelling, so i did a quick PS work:

BHMS Versus Check 6 on Dalaran sewers game 1:

- Warlock ZERGED start to finish
- Second beastial wrath came up, and Warlock from BHMS went down quickly with Check 6 taking the first game 1 to zero

Game 2 on Ruins on lordaeron:

- Zerg again on the warlock, game ended before it even began. What a let down. Game 2 going to check 6, 2 zero.

Game 3 on Ruins of lordaeron:

- i heard beastcleave is broken :/
- Warlock from BHMS zerged, game over.

Check 6 taking the win, and next up is SK EU VS Button Bashers.

Game 1 on Nagrand arena (my god, 10+ minutes of trying to queue Blade’s Edge arena due to disconnect ealier) :

- Very patient opener from Hiren Rogue follwing with an early blind to druid
- Warlock getting focused to half health, portaled and Druid saved him
- Numberone Priest getting low thanks to DK, swap to DK by Button Bashers
- Still getting low from the DK dmg, and eventually went down. SK EU taking the first game 1 to Zero.

Game 2 on Nagrand Arena again:

- Opener starts on the Druid Enigma
- Orangemarmalade Mage blinked in to assist, got warstomped
- Button bashers swapped to Death knight, Rogue eventually re-stealthed to reset.
- Numberone priest got an AWESOME fear to Enigma Druid in caster form, Hiren Rogue reopens, and Instant explode to Enigma Druid, Game 2 goes to Button bashers 1-1 Tied.

Game 3 on Ring of Valor:

- Early rush down from Button Bashers, with Numberone Priest hardcore dps’ing
- Trinket blown by enigma druid, running across to the pillar, with the pillar pushing Hiren Rogue up, nice save to SK EU
- Save didn’t last long, sudden death towards Enigma druid and as vhell said it: “got melted by Button Bashers” and Button Bashers taking the game 2 to 1.

Game 4 on Ruins of Lordaeron:

- VERY quick start from Button Bashers on Enigma Druid
- Big Fear from Numberone priest on  SK EU with Enigma Druid feared all the way to the starting area
- Enigma going dangerously low, with all cooldowns used, managed to get away
- Numberone priest suddenly taking a lot of huge bursts, Enigma at the same situation, but Numberone Priest went down first, and SK EU managed to get away with it, Game 4 going to SK EU 2 all TIED.

Game 5 on Blade’s Edge arena:

- Opener on the Enigma Druid, ran off the bridge, swap to Another Death Knight
- Swaps going back and forth, numberone Priest suddenly dip low, popped pain suppression, jumped off bridge for a full penance
- All of a sudden with the swaps going on, CC chains on Enigma with Another Death knight swapped having trinket and AMS down and INSTANT KILL with Button Bashers taking the game 3 to 2.

Next up, Lower bracket, SK EU VS BHMS on Ring of Valor:

- Double early Ghoul kill
- dot dot dot hot hot hot
- Brogo Druid drinking, and most likely due to that fell back on heals
- Warlock went low, portaled and picked back up, DK from BHMS went low as well, swap back to lock from BHMS and down he goes, SK EU winning the match 1 to zero.

Game 2 on Ruins of Lordaeron:

- same shit, dot x hot
- SK EU generally having the upper hand, eventually downs BHMS Druid and SK EU taking the game 2 to Zero.

LOL AT WOW CRASH RIGHT WHEN THE KILL SCORED. GG BLIZZ AND HP BLACKBIRDS.

Game 3 on Ring of Valor:

- Brogo Druid banished by SK EU
- going low on health, and SK EU finishes it. 3 to Zero with SK EU making it out of the Loser bracket.

BHMS is out of the tournament, top 3 with SK EU/ Button Bashers/ Check 6. And now they will be taking a break.

Next up is Button Bashers versus Check 6 again (OH BOY!) on Nagrand arena:

- VERY HEAVY preasure on orangemarmalade mage start to finish, blowing 2 iceblocks eventually.
- check 6 HEAVY YELLING on KILL FOR orange
- orange mage managed to survive, made a swap from hunter to shaman
- Toez paladin COMPLETELY NO MANA, and the kill was made. VERY EXCITING match from Button Bashers, taking the game TWO ZERO.

and I MISSED GAME 1 DAMNIT. Head to WOM for that -_-;

Game 3 on Nagrand arena again:

- heavy preasure beginning to orangemarmalade mage
- Great stun from Hiren rogue before bloodlust, and after bloodlust, spellstolen bloodlust by orangemarmalade mage.
- first iceblock from mage and restealth of rogue
- sudden burst from check6 and instant killed orangemarmalade and check6 taking Game 3 with 2 to 1 favoring Button Bashers.

Game 4 on Ruins of Lordaeron:

- bad start from button bashers
- rogue got flared out denied opener
- orangemarmalade mage made an early ice block, and eventually died.
- Mage actually had iceblock debuff fell off, but still died from intense burst. Check 6 taking the victory having 2 all tied.

Game 5 on Ruins of Lordaeron again:

- very intense last match, i dont even know how to highlight this lol
- orangemarmalade mage getting very heavy preasure as usual, trying to survive so badly
- sudden fear to toez paladin, followed silence, and check 6 shaman gg’ed in a hurry and with that, Button Bashers took the game with 3 to 1.

Next up is check 6 versus SK EU on Blade’s Edge arena:

- inflamez getting the preasure as usual
- twix hunter tried to be pro on the disengage and it went wrong putting him on a bad position
- Game dragged and hunter went low
- great fear by inflamez and twix hunter went down with SK EU taking the first game 1 to zero.

Game 2 on Dalaran Sewers:

- preasure as usual on inflamez
- inflamez jumped down, check6 didnt pursue
- momentum shifting back from check6 to SK EU with Flex enh shaman going low
- sudden cc from SK EU with cyclones, and down go twix the hunter and SK EU got the 2nd game two zero against check 6.

Game 3 on Dalaran Sewers again:

- starting as usual on inflamez, very heavy damage and early AMZ is used
- Seemed like inflamez taking out cleansing totem and another spreading more dots
- hunter pet just died, but it was brought back up
- flex goin low but got picked back up despite cc’s on toez
- Enigma went really low but managed to ran off staying alive
- Toez went low from the dots, not going back up, and there it goes SK EU taking the 3rd game with Check 6 taking the 3rd place in the tournament going home.

Coming up, Last and final game, Button Bashers versus SK EU, RMP vs DK Lock Druid. NO USA TEAMS LOL.

Anyways, Final game on Rings of valor, with Button Bashers 3 and SK EU 2, first team to 6th win TAKES IT ALL:

- early blind from button bashers
- inflamez dropping really low early
- swap made to enigma
- numberone priest went low as well used pain suppression
- Hiren drops REALLY low, topped off by penance
- swapped to another, popped AMS and he survived easily
- HEAVY cc on rogue, dispel to UA silenced numberone and down goes hiren

SK EU taking the first game 3 ALL tied

Game 2 on Rings of valor again:

- heavy hit on enigma but he managed to survive with AMZ
- numberone got swapped with a grip into strangulate, still managed to survive
- sudden swap from Button bashers to enigma and DOWN GOES ENIGMA IN A HURRY

Button Bashers taking the lead 4 to 3.

Game 3 on Rings of valor AGAIN!

- another instantly cc’ed from the start
- opener on enigma, with dps splited with another
- huge damage towards hiren, grip into deathcoil
- numberone dispeled UA silenced
- INSANE BURST INTO ENIGMA BUT A SUDDEN CROSS KILL TOWARDS HIREN
- numberone is dangerously low taking a ton of damage
- rogue priest vs dk lock, insane dmg from orangemarmalade towards the dk
- numberone gettin back mana, and SHATTER HIT AND DOWN GOES ANOTHER

hell, Numberone outdamaged the rogue as a priest, REALLY AGGRESSIVE priest i’ve EVER seen. HELLA EXCITING MATCH UP AND NOW BUTTON BASHERS 5 OVER SK EU 3. ONE MORE AND THEY TAKE IT ALL.

Game 4 on Nagrand arena:

- hiren got destealthed
- gargoyle got shackled
- button bashers getting reset, opening on enigma, but got gripped by another
- another down to half and AMZ laid out
- enigma low on mana and innervated
- swapped to another down to half but heavy cc’s onto hiren
- still constant preasure onto another, and they managed to kill another
- dots constantly ticking, hiren eating, prayer of mending ticked, but a CROSS KILL SCORED
- priest mage versus druid and warlock, druid is low on mana, so the game is still sided to button bashers
- game dragged horribly, 2vs2 mana war between mage priest vs druid warlock

=another final update=

Sorry everyone for 1) not able to finish up the last 2 matches 2) not updating this earlier as i had a crash out for not having enough sleep going straight to work and coming back in traffic jams and what not. Maiwaifu was just way too tempting for

Anyways about the match: I’ve heard the game dragged for 25minutes into a draw and having SK-US Druid Warlock won due to more damage. It was a pity that i couldn’t watch that very match myself as a new orange legend could’ve born from it due to my day job. (hey, it pays for this very site and my various entertainment ‘needs’ LOL)

Further disappoint was had when i checked WOM to get some reference of the last 2 matches:

An apology on missing the last a few games of the BB vs SK-EU grand finals.  I waited and waited but I simply had to go escort my father-in-law back to his hotel to catch an early morning flight.  Estel watched the matches and told me exactly what happened, and I am glad the best team won. Serennia-sama was supposed to take over bracket play, but I got this message at 6PM:

I have an excrutiatingly painful toothe ache, had to call a doctor and im leaving soon for it i think… hurts so bad its unreal – Serennia-sama

Only this available on WOM:

Game 5 was on Ring of Valor yet again!  How can this map be played four out of five times in the grand finals?  BB’s Druid-to-DK-to-Druid swap sealed the deal as they are the team of destiny!  Getting ROV against DK/Lock/Druid, Nagrand against Beast Cleave was huge but you can not deny their impeccable skills.

So guess this wraps up this post. I will be posting a final conclusion post and a slight surprise for you guys as well

Yeap, I have downed Obsidian Sanctum 25 man Sartharion + 2 Drakes, in a PUG! Yes i know this is World of Casualcraft and yes i know OS + drakes are EZmode and No i don’t care what you think. All started from a “do it for the lulz” initiative after seeing Trade channel LFM people for OS + 2 drakes. I thought: “lol pug + drakes? probably gonna be a wipefest”. But since i was rather curious and a little bit bored, i gave it a shot anyways.

Like damn, after ventrilo explanation by the Raid leader, and given like 3 ish wipes, we managed to down it and wow, dare-i-say it was EASY! LOL!. Believe it or not, it is a COMPLETE PUG organized by 6-7 core members of a raiding guild that farm Naxxramas. About 3-4 people don’t even know the strategy (including me) and about 10-15? not having the 2 drakes achievement, or never even done 2 drakes at all. Speaking of PVP, another achievement i have done sometime around March while digging through screenshots – 20 kills 0 death in a single battleground.

To make it even better? Look at the 1337 honor gain, as well as the 5 cap map. Much THANKS to Nebb, Axumx, Cellix for group queue’ing with me for that game. Couldn’t have done it without you guys

Heres a much delayed highlight (not that its already overdone by Gameriot Bloggers -_-;) of  2009 World of Warcraft Electronic Sports League European regional finals highlights from DMM. If you dont care about WoW, at least skip the video to ~2mins, and watch it for about 2+ mins till ~4mins.  Thats where the epic happened. A losing battle, complete despair, and yet orange marmalade never gave up, and beaten reason to the curb (o hai TTGL!) and win it for the team.

How is this so epic? SK-Asia requires that ONE win, to gain the 30k USD, while HON requires THREE WINS to get the 30k USD tournament prize. (2 more win, + another due to HON coming up from the lower bracket) Just because of orange marmalade ‘never-give-up-spirit’, he got his team the victory for the ESL European regional finals and the 30k US dollars.

…and whats going on with my own WoW? To be honest, nothing much. Ive for the most part, gotten casual with my WoW, or rather forced to, due to RL/work, but fear not, i wont be quitin the game. At least not until some starcraft MMO is out

It’s been a while since my last blog post especially a WoW related one. Not that there is much to write about WoW at the moment considering my rather casual viewpoint of it, however this one particular WoW news is just so full of stupidity i felt it needed some attention if it haven’t got enough from its 12+ million subscriber already. I mean, seriously, how stupid can one ever be? You make an illegal Botting program for a game, and then you SUE the game maker thats being nice to you telling you to stop the Bots. Like, woah. As expected, Blizzard entertainment, knowing their long history on their strict stance against cheaters, and the fact that someone actually provoked their law muscles, things would definitely get really rough quick. And oh boy did it get spiced up fast with a 3 charges counter sue with 2 charges already hitting for 6million USD with a 3rd charge still on trial (more of just appealing against the court’s decision).

Even the term “shooting oneself on their own foot” couldn’t quite make up for the amount of retardedness MDY Industries (the Bot maker) portrayed. Hope you guys enjoy this pile of stupid. And as a promise to my friend Exiled_Gundam, theres another post coming up very shortly

Remember the part i mentioned “Lich King doesnt completely dominate my mind“? Yeap, i epic failed that. Anyways, my first experience with WOTLK is with a DeathKnight (aka DK) DESPITE how i’ve mentioned that i wont hop on the DK bandwagon and just level my Rogue. Unfortunately, (or fortunately?) the WOTLK installation process storytelling Arthas’s story from the very beginning since he was born until he became a DK, and later on a Lich King and sat on the frozen throne with an orchestrated music and choir singing as the background music is well, lets just say im just too easily suckered in for THAT much effort.
 

As the first picture on the top shown, thats my Yami-chan I’ve created for my DK, named after the character “Konjiki no Yami” aka “Golden Darkness” from the anime ToLove Ru (trouble). I’ve sorta ran outta idea on what the hell to name my new DK, or what kinda race (ANY race can be a DK /facepalm) and looks i want my DK to be. So i look around for some inspiration, and there it is – my Yami-chan figurine staring right at me. There it was: THAT IS IT! It HAS to be her. So I’ve created a DK and modeled + named after her as close as i could.

Another of the most memorable part of the DK introduction quests, was the invasion of Light’s hope Chapel (LHC). Its just… totally epic. Imagine those invasion scenes from 300, Troy, LOTR and so forth. That kinda epic cept in a lot smaller scale. With the above picture, i suppose you know what’s coming. Again, another belated post, as i was supposed to get this done yesterday but hey, cant defy the Lich King‘s will now can we? I thought Malaysia’s going to be following US timezone release, which would be around Friday 1pm, apparently not, as it was pushed ahead (as with US themselves btw) to Thursday having a simultaneous release for WOTLK and so i had to rush for it after work to ALL IT (they were having some queue for freebies, like, 22″ LCD YO!) at Low Yat Plaza to grab my own copy.

So like, i managed to grab Sichiri along, since he got a camera phone (i know, its crap, but something at this point is better than nothin) where i have nothing to snap pictures for the event. When we arrived ALL IT at around 6:40? 6:50pm, like… lolwut? Wheres the party? Upon asking a staff, we just realized that it was over. (despite the damn thing saying it starts on 7pm lolwut?) Cant help but have the constant feeling that the ALL IT staff(s) are having the following look on us:

Lack of WoW updates recently, so i guess this will fit in. It all started with a slight EA bashing from the LYN AnimeShrine forum, or more specifically, the spamthread – late night thread. Before we all know it, it turned into a short but rather informational debate regarding vivendi, EA, and of course, blizzard.

Be warned, as the following will be an insanely huge TLDR;Wall O’ text as i will be pasting the entire debate entirely with some very minor editing to improve readability (such as spacing/paragraphs/grammars/translations etc). Dont worry though, i will be doing my best to post up a TLDR summarization for those that couldnt be bothered or just simply dont have the time to go through a huge Wall O text.

It is basically a debate between me and forum user – Dark Steno, i will be having his replies in quote while mine in italics to easily differenciate between replies. So shall we begin?

actually while ea being monopoly and always making dull, decent games but i can see lately that they’re rather trying to make better games. it is surprising that they canceled some of the games just because they’re not wroth to play. for example, look at C&C Tiberium, an FPS game for C&C3. By right, if they released it now even if its buggy, people will still buy it due to “Commander and Conquer” franchise. Yet, they halted it to make way for better games.

of course, you’re free to have your conspiracy theory on whats happening and why vivendi staffs are being cut, but thats what it is on the surface. (like everyone’s free to play the good ole american conspiracy games like the president/area51/aliens etc etc)

TLDR: blizzard is under vivendi. vivendi merged with activation to match some penises with EA, blizzard still operates on its own since 1996 despite numerous change of “parent company”/publisher even until this very day of activision blizzard.

From what I read in kotaku, the merger made most of vivendi workers lost their positions. Of course, the accounts taken from ex-workers of vivendi rather than official stuffs on the site. Since blizzard is so resourceful, Activision Blizzard focus more manpower on Blizzard games like WoW. So other divisions in vivendi that undergoing the development other games that Activision Blizzard think them as less fruitful than from Blizzard studio were cut off. Not that I hate the merger or something else but previously people thought that the merger will produce more quality games yet things going to favor blizzard studio games. you might feel ok since they focus on WoW. If i am a fan of WoW, I don’t mind as well. But to see them letting go World In Conflict, Brutal Legend and others made some people angry (and they went wtf by keeping Ice Age games lol).

based from that link, its pretty much a short b**** rant from a disgruntled QA staff. now, just for a standard “reality check”, whos word youd think the majority would side with? of course, im not denying that said guy’s credibility, but behind the games cutting etc etc for example, does it even come to mind that the game may not be on par? may not be worthy of a release and so forth? EA done it, hell, even blizzard was rather infamous for their SC:Ghost cutting.

you have to understand ONE clear thing: vivendi is a PUBLISHER. they are NOT a game developer studio. Of course, you can say the same bout EA, but you see, vivendi dont put a leash on their assets/studios on their games, to the point most people (like you) dont even know blizzard is UNDER vivendi (eg: no “vivendi logo” in any of their games, hell, you ever seen a vivendi logo in any games? i cant remember/name any, but i think theres a few out there)

AFAIK, or as far as the majority knows, studios under vivendi work freely (at least blizzard is), while EA, not so much.
obviously, WoW is blizzard’s current, and most obvious cashcow. but im sure you realize they are working on sc2/D3 and just recently announced, warcraft4 (hahahaha, who the f*** is left for lore as almost every villian is dead in WoW) right?
blizzard had an almost perfect trackrecord, almost all their games (especially the recent ones) turned into cash flowing e-sport, featured on national television in united states, europe, and especially korea. any other game came close to that? well, CS, and… they WERE under vivendi until valve outgrew themselves and they left vivendi for greater ventures… now look at them… they are doing good, but no where near “phenomenon” as they were back in half life 1 days. (even funnier when gabe newell is playing WoW himself, the fatty should be working more on hl2 lulz

see, money suckers or not, what make blizzard being, blizzard still stands till this day: that extra blizzard polish. they will tune the damn thing to the slightest details, some of them werent even noticeble by most players (footstep sound, ambience sound, -1 dmg from a unit just to balance it even for a little bit more), thats how they seperated themselves from the rest, thats what made WoW a 11-12 million player game and the world’s highest valued e-sport (75k USD prize money, nothing comes close to that in gaming history AFAIK)

and yea i sorta catch what you mean, something along the line of being “the lesser evil” amongst the rest, right?
in regards to that, i suppose ur right. WoW for example, is no doubt a monopolization and being malaysians, we know very damn well on what monopoly does. Heck I know Vivendi is a publisher. Of course they’re not developer. But without money given by publisher (depends on agreements/contracts), developer won’t be able to go far. I came to acknowledged vivendi after their relationship with Sierra. well, like you said, studios under vivendi did work freely but actually that depended on contracts. by comparing both vivendi and ea, you can see how differ both of them in term of sale. marketing is the major advantage for ea. throughout these years, ea is well known for sports games. my first ea games was fifa 95/96. the integration of games with pop culture is one of ea’s strategies to make their games sold well (those hollywood actors and also hip hop techno whacamalit songs etc).

blizzard started slow but well. being independent blizzard entertainment and then opening up blizzard north studio, and so on. tho i disliked their styles of having multiple expansions which only adds few additions like units or maps (like warcraft 2 and also star craft). in those days, sc was so popular for being an rts that had 3 factions that works differently (those days also were days that we can install any games on cyber cafes). as we know, by taking good examples from other games, slowly we can create a better product rather than rushing it out yearly.

in this matter, vivendi is doing the same job as ea for marketing the products but what they did was not on par with ea. studios work freely but too much time wasted. hl2 was taking too much time as gabe newell being kind of perfectionist. i bet if hl2 wasn’t succesful, vivendi would be a goner already. that’s a bad thing for vivendi which led up to current ruckus. even i don’t like vivendi’s packaging. hl2 packaging was like shit (only a box, several discs inside and a guidesheet). while ea’s ‘i am the boss demit’ attitude led to a monopoly of gaming industry which involve in every genre. the most evil, aye? as much as people grieving over westwood lost to ea, they’re actually formed up to a studio named ea los angeles. i believed the loss might because westwood couldnt produced their products at given time. command and conquer generals was the idea from former westwood staffs themselves but enraged fans considered it as something not to be included in c&c universe. remnants of loyalist workers of westwood established petroglyph studio but they couldnt go anywhere with their products since most of their talented people were taken away to eala.

well, we can see who was the first gaming consortium that have facilities similar to microsoft? i am not a supporter of ea. by now, i believe blizzard’s estates might be something similar with google offices. being a casual gamer, i play almost all kinds of games. i dont care if the creator of the games are fascists or nazis as long as the games are good enough for me to play it. as much as ea being culprit of making same games every year, alot of other people following this direction. people praised konami for having a great football games but it’s still the same shit every year. same like square enix with their fukkenlol rpg games (and i dont understand japanese tards who kept playing the same thing over 20 years). it is not true that i hate WoW or blizzard as these are also my gaming materials. i do like wow very much compared to other mmorpg (for sure tested lol) just that i couldnt cope my time with it.

you have to also understand that not all studios are dependant on their publishers. before blizzard had any relation with vivendi, they’ve already got the capabilities to even consume other studios (conrad studios, aka blizzard north, diablo anyone?) and that alone should speak more than itself that blizzard didnt really needed vivendi. true, marketing has always been EA strong points, but to more hardcore/enthusiastic/old school gamers like me for example, its actually a major turn off as what comes out of EA’s mouth is all $$$ and doesnt seem to give a flying f*** about their gamers/community.

so if half life 2 failed, it never would’ve made ANY difference to vivendi or whatsoever as both companies are sue’ing each others asses, so hl2 being successful, never contributed anything towards vivendi’s success, at all. back in the old days im am pretty much a general both hardcore + casual gamer, ive played warcraft3 mainly, but ive played many other games as well. nowdays, too little games are able to produce that blizzard polish that i demanded, and since then ive stuck on WoW/warcraft3 (even occassional diablo2) mainly. When you’ve gotten to a point where the rest are just not able to put up the standards, you’re no longer turning back anymore. again, we know that its not easy for new comers to match up with the big players, but if they arent doing it, new generations of gamers are pretty much stuck with what the big players are able to offer. my only solace? blizzard is still staying true to their goals and basic principals they’ve used since the early old school pre-year 2000 days with starcraft/warcraft2.

EA does give a flying f*** about the community. But instead of giving new patches, they gave you new games! lolol but the only studio that gives a flying f*** about community in ea is that EALA. anyway the recent development of games, at most a new game can hold is 6 months to one year. this caters for most of the games out there. why? there are too many games coming out every month. so developers must know how to give support on their games to sustain longer. but then, after they’re getting more silver and gold from the sales, they used that for developing new things.

The problem with RA2 was, it’s developed by Westwood. Back then, EA was only a publisher. I know how crap RA2 was. The only thing that make RA franchise was successful due to real world smilarity stuff. You see, people always crapping over EA making dull games and such. But by comparing newer versions of C&C games by EA. they’re more balanced than old Westwood games. Actually some hardcore C&C fans but also EA haters are nonsense gamers. They wanted those old whatever units but actually those were imba units. So, in my opinion, Westwood games aren’t that well balanced and I don’t understand why those people keep whining over every single matters. For example, just by having Prism tanks plus Rocketeers spam, you win. Also look at other games like Supreme Commander. Massive wars and what other shits people might say. But the truth is, it is the same as WC2 as you said. Mirror units and such with little improvements.

can you tell how suck C&C renegade was? i was dissappointed by the game because the C&C era was started around 1995 but suddenly they went far ahead into future (previously it is said that renegade was subsequently following the first C&C game).

The only reason I played wc3 before was due to i like to know the stories. Yeah, I’ve been playing since wc1 (but dont ask me how the stories going as i kinda cannot remember them all). wc3 was challenging but has never been favored due to my personal preferences. Dota thing also was good as I also have been playing starcraft and its maps all along (i just dont like those dotards, kthx). its just like i prefer those magical elf and orks thingy for rpg games rather than rts. just a personal preference. but when these things turned futuristic like warhammer40k games, that’s one of the best rtses out there (but most decent gamers dont really fancy it. maybe too much micro).

definately i will buy sc2 and d3. but i am not into mmorpg like wow or even that warhammer online (however if you managed to convert me that ways, i dont mind as i’ve never been playing a good rpg for sometime).

japanese rpg games can go die. i tell you WoW, diablo or even that oblivion are far more better games than those japanese shits. the existance of final fantasy and other japanese games are for giving mangaka some inputs for their hentai doujins materials which is the only thing i like.

and thats the thing i hate about EA. patch? nope. we give you yet another NEW BUGGY UNPOLISHED game woohoo! not so exciting, really. like NFS underground, i had fun with my logitech momo. NFS prostreet, a supposedly newer and more technological advanced game, cannot support my logitech momo. (the car keeps steering right side…. fun!) i was like… woah! we just gone back in tech! one of the simple comparison based on what you said, 6months to a year is generally what new games/EA games can sustain. well, lets look at blizzard’s game, or even halflife/counterstrike. it speaks for itself

japanese rpg, there are good ones, and bad ones. generally i get your idea, as i somewhat share the same resentment. they just focus too damn much on eye candy, and lack creativity towards game play. (**final** fantasy 294872947239 anyone?)

well decent and new gamers are not really fancy with warcraft3 (except for that dota shit). it’s a good game but not all into microing all army. i am not comparing which is more micro between those two. i do play wc3 la. i know how bizzare the micro can be. i am just telling that some people dont like warhammer40k or warcraft3 due to extensive micro. for example my brother who prefer typical rts like age of empires 3. i think he also prefer supreme commander where you just sending troops and so on to win the game.

Now, before you guys start jumping on the gun and point fingers calling him some emo-kid and telling him to kill himself, this whole chain of event that ultimately led to this sad outcome was due to the last final match-up at the Intel ESL WoW 3.0 arena tournament and before that, numerous World of Warcraft LAN tournaments such as the MLG that also resulted in their team a second place winning. So close, yet so far just couldnt sound any better right now. 

If you have been paying attention to the new patch 3.0, or watched the Intel ESL tournament that just recently concluded, it is basically a blow up gibbing fest, and for team gravitas (the team Celex [mage] is in) the last few matches came down to a mage + priest mirror fighting off each other as both team’s rogues (mirror RMP [RogueMagePriest] agains team SK-gaming europe) exchanged KnockOuts early on the game almost as quick as around 20-30++ seconds of the matchup upon engagement. In the last particular final game deciding match, 5-5 tied sk-gaming and team gravitas, celex and ely (priest) of team gravitas had made minor mistakes here and there, however, i personally think the biggest, out of those small little mistakes, is celex accidentally moved during an evocation channel, resulting him to be oom (out of mana) the entire time and being non-stop preasured without the ability to fight back. At that point in my opinion, they had already lost.

I just have to say that its a real pity that team gravitas lost that last final match, they had been together for a very long time, scoring numerous 2nd place finishes. My advice? Just stick through it, and eventually who knows, if team gravitas’ infamous RMP team might eventually take home a first place finish, not only redeeming themselves, but also a much needed american victory over the much heated argument of america vs europe in WoW tournaments, in which case europe is currently having the lead.

As for WoW 3.0 itself, patch 3.0 as we all know, had been around for a week, and its more or less a mixed feelings for almost everyone, including mine. To sum it up, its a blowup fest, everyone is dying in a matter of seconds, heavily resilience geared or not, it just gives you a couple extra seconds, or, avoid that dreaded 1 shot kill that some of the newbies are facing with the recent patch 3.0 changes.

Just like previous pre-TBC (TheBurningCrusade) release, they had patch 2.0 for the level 60s to play with and oh boy was it crazy enough. And now with 3.0 on level 70 high end gear (note: pvp gear that involves a lot of burst dmg over pve’s sustained dmg) everyone is killing everyone in a blink of an eye. My rogue had pretty much the best of the best gear minus a few not-so-crucial pieces, and i am dying to the hands of those dreaded Retribution Paladins in a matter of 1 HoJ, (Hammer of Justice) which is a ranged stun for aproximately 7 seconds. Granted retdins were hotfix nerfed pretty quickly, they are still pretty damn game breaking especially in a 1v1 situation.

Thankfully though things hasn’t gotten TOO FAR out of hand to the point where healing wouldnt have mattered. They still do, and i have been blessed to have PUG healers keeping me alive for the slaughter. An IRL (In Real Life) friend of mine, that plays a priest in WoW with the name Haruhii, was healing me earlier tonight before this post. And see for yourself the result:

Later on i also played some arenas with my guildie Spira, except that its on his retdin (Retribution Paladins), and… yeap, matches are lasting no more than 20-30 seconds after engagement LOL. I have to say, while im not entirely liking it, it is kinda fun in a way – Gib or be gibbed. You’ll pretty much only see Retdin + x (where x are usually mage/rogue)  in the 2v2 now, as any combo without immunities is just asking for a free lose. That aside, arena servers are sitll buggy, and not to mention a lot of random and occassional lag spikes/delays. Totally NOT fun having a gib fest when you need to cast Divine shield. In case you didnt know, divine shield is instant-cast, so you kinda get what im implying here, yes, really BAD lag.

We’ll just have to see how this shortly interesting 3.0 will play out before WOTLK (WrathOfTheLichKing) hits on november 13. Until next time, ill be off to catch some anime thats been pending for a bit at 1:15AM

Ok, kinda lame for a start, almost something out of  a programming course text book. But anyways, Death Meets Moe, short for DMM, is finally up and running, been through many trials and error, lots of lulz, lots of QQs, and a whole lot of blood, sweat and tears! Maybe not blood… maybe! Ok ok, i so ripped that off… probably starcraft? Who knows and who cares?

Many MANY thanks goes to Aphexdk (Jesper) for helping me out on this site, which is also hosted by him including its FTP (that i’ve been using for many many long years) be it the initial setting up, debuggings, and almost all the configurations… and lets not forget! our AWESOMELY FABULOUS- *sprinkles some fabulous flowers* DMM Header! Which not to mention, is wide screen 1680 compatible, and standard 1024 non-wide compatible too!

P/S: Above pics were taken late september/early october prior to patch 3.0, in before bitching at the perfect 0 death scores. And if anyone gonna comment on the FPS, i was using my geforce 7200GS while my 8800UltraSC is still RMA in the USA.
